Reflection of a new form of short-term volunteering "voluntourism" from the perspective of Czech participating volunteers and expert criticism

The diploma thesis deals with short-term volunteering called volunteer tourism (VT) or also known as "voluntourism". This type of volunteering has gained its popularity but has also been criticized by experts on volunteering. The aim of this work is to introduce the issue of VT to examine critical views from the side of experts to analyze the perception of VT by Czech volunteers who have completed the VT project and compare these reflections with expert criticism. The theoretical part is focused on the introduction of VT and analysis of scientific texts, dealing with criticism of VT. The empirical part is focused on the statements of volunteers themselves and their subsequent comparison with professional criticism. In conclusion of the diploma thesis there is a summary of research results and discussion of the differences in the reflection of two levels of participants. This diploma thesis deals with new trend a new forms of tourism, with focus on volunteer tourism. The aim of the thesis is summarize development of this form of tourism, mapping of opportunities for engaging in volunteer tourism and, above all, analyzing the participants and potencial participants of this form of travel. The theoretical part deals with the description of new trends and new forms of tourism and subsequently with the definition of volunteering. The practical part of the thesis describes the possibilities of engaging in volunteer tourism and analyzes the participant and the potential participant of this form of tourism.
Offer of outgoing volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis describes outgoing volunteer tourism in the Czech Republic through volunteer organizations that offer projects mainly for young people as a meaning leisure activity, but also organizations that are involved in rescue operations during various natural disasters and other emergencies. It then also describes types of projects as well as positive and negative impacts, benefits, and problems of international volunteering. Final survey identifies a profile of participants of these projects and on its basis the future development of volunteer tourism is estimated.
Voluntary service as a motivation for participation in tourism

The bachelor thesis desribes voluntourism in terms of its historical development in the world as well as in the Czech Republic and analyses its contribution, risks and potential. It focuses on the European Union's program Youth in Action, particularly on projects of the European voluntary service. The profile of a typical volunteer coming to the Czech Republic to do his European voluntary service was created following the results of the survey and also his motivation was closely examined. The relevant results are presented by graphs.
